Tesla Gets Approval To Build Its Own Diner, Drive-In Theater

Elon Musk‘s empire continues to expand with the latest news that Tesla has reportedly been approved to build a diner, drive-in theater in Los Angeles.

The news comes two years after Musk posted on X that there will be “new Supercharger station coming to Santa Monica soon! Hoping to have 50’s diner & 100 best movie clips playing too. Thanks Santa Monica city!” The post was back in 2021 and now documents seen by Teslarati have indicated that the company has gained approval from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety to build a “Diner and Drive-In Movie Supercharger in West Hollywood.” The location is set to be on 7001 W. Santa Monica Boulevard and the complex is expected to feature 32 Supercharger stalls as well as various restaurant food options, rooftop seating and two movie theater screens.

With Superchargers, Tesla cars owners will not be able to watch the full film, since charging could provide up to 200 miles in just 15 minutes. According to the documents, the applications for the project was submitted in November 2022 and the plan was approved earlier this summer on July 18. On August 9, the initial grading inspection was completed and approved. An image of what could be the Tesla Diner” was shown during the company’s Investor Day event in March, as seen above. It remains to be seen when this project will be completed.
