Salomon has introduced its latest footwear innovation, placing sustainability front and center with the arrival of a fully-recyclable running sneaker. Named Index.01, the sneaker is constructed from a recycled polyester upper and a nitrogen-infused, TPU foam named INFINIRIDE for the midsole unit.
Both materials are widely recyclable, and all the wearer needs to do is seperate the upper from the sole unit and recycle each section seperately. As well as being sustainable and recyclable, both of these materials are also extremely lightweight, giving the Index.01 a weight of just 285 grams. Finishing the sneaker’s design is a tongue tab feature the Salomon logo and the recyclable logo, proudly displaying the silhouette’s sustainable credentials.
Take a look at the Index.01 in the gallery above. The sneaker is due to release in its minimal off-white colorway in Spring 2021.
