Run While Reducing Your Carbon Footprint With On Running’s First Ever Carbon Emission Shoe

Sustainability within the fashion world is now more vital than ever before. Recently, we’ve seen the likes of Burberry and the British Fashion Council expand its sustainable ReBurberry Fabric Programme, while the likes of Finisterre are curating garments made solely from high-quality and recycled fabrics. Now, Swiss sportswear brand On is presenting its latest running shoe that is made from carbon emissions in a move that intends to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint.

Entitled the Cloudprime sneaker, On’s latest release introduces a new foam material called CleanCloudTM that uses carbon emissions as its raw material. This is the label’s first shoe of this kind and is the first design to move away from using fossil feedstock after exploring alternative materials that can be used for producing high-quality performance sports products. By partnering with LanzaTech, Borealis, and Technip Energies for the creation of the shoe, each party involved works with biochemicals, sustainable processes, and material innovation to create the greenest products possible. For the design, the shoe comes with a white hue across its lightweight and textile upper, while shades of pink and blue — in a rainbow-like formation — take over the lateral mid-panel underneath the customary On branding.

You can have a closer look at the latest carbon emission shoe from On above and it available on the official On website now.
