Nike has introduced the Space Hippie lineup to the world which explores and breaks the limits of using recycled materials and circular design process.
Chosen with consideration for environmental impact, Nike took "space junk" off its factory floors to create the sneakers and packing of the Space Hippie 01, 02, 03 and 04. Specific design materials include "Space Waste Yarn" which is engineered from 100% recycled materials like plastic bottles, tees and yarn scraps; recycled ZoomX foam created from Vaporfly 4% scraps; and "Crater Foam" made from a blend of regular Nike foams and 15% Nike Grind Rubber. In its press release, Nike says "Space Hippie embodies the idea that designers have a right and responsibility in problem-solving."
