Google Unveils First-Ever Pixel Smartwatch

Google has officially unveiled its all-new Pixel Watch, the company’s first-ever smartwatch. The offering is an extension of Google’s updated Pixel portfolio which also includes new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. Pixel Watch combines the best of Google and Fitbit in a custom-developed stainless steel case and a circular, domed watch face that’s both scratch and water-resistant (up to 50 meters).

Arriving in jewelry-inspired “Champagne Gold,” “Matte Black,” and “Polished Silver” case options, the Pixel Watch currently offers 20 band pairings arriving in active, stretch, woven, metal, and leather touches. Customizable watch faces and an easily modified user interface offer further personalization opportunities.

Pixel Watch’s Fitbit integration incorporates all the health and fitness insights from its usual devices including heart rate monitoring, sleep scores, and fall detection. Meanwhile, from Google’s end, Wallet, Maps, Google Assistant, Gmail, Calendar, and YouTube Music apps deliver essential smartphone functions on the wrist. Additional design details include a side button subtly situated above the tactile crown which opens the user’s most recently used apps.

“The watch combines the smarts and helpfulness you know and love from Google with Fitbit’s health and fitness expertise, all in an elegant design,” writes Google.

Google is now accepting pre-orders for the Pixel Watch. Prices start from $350 USD. More details can be found here.
