A bottle of soap would be reduced to a small sachet when shipped to you, going from a big transport footprint to a smaller one. We wouldn’t need to throw away plastic bottles and bags anymore. Our Wood scent is distilled from timber yard scraps in Canada. Our Citrus scent is distilled from the leftover peels and pulp from organic juicing plants in the Caribbean. That allows us to reduce the amount of raw materials we commission, by making waste a new resource.
Reduced to the Essential Ingredients. The average liquid soap has more than 10 ingredients of over 1% content. We worked with a lab specialized in natural cosmetics to break it down to 6 essential ingredients over 1%. All ingredients are naturally derived, all are considered safe by EWG Skin Deep® and 5 are COSMOS certified (COSMetic Organic and natural Standard).
FORGO hand wash arrives in powder form, turns into a brilliant liquid hand wash when you add water from the tap, and foams when you wash up with it.
Liquid soaps range from 80% to 95% water. Liquid soap grew in popularity in the 1960's to become the dominant product in the market over bar soap. This can be largely attributed to the prevalence of cheap to manufacture disposable plastic bottles. This continues to contribute to our global waste challenges. The mindset is shifting though, and FORGO is a part of this critical moment to change the way we consume.
Made in good practice. We partner with manufacturers who are artisans and innovators in their own right. And we build these partnerships near where we and you live, in and around North America, and Europe. From our glass blower in Portugal to our lab in Canada, we are after making better things with less.
Not your average sachet, ours isn’t coated in plastic. It’s sourced sustainably and manufactured in Northern Europe. It is not a plastic pouch or a biodegradable plastic, which has very little to no chance of being recycled/composted. Its coating dissolves in the normal paper recycling or composting stream.
Our products are shipped to you in recycled recyclable paper boxes and envelopes. We limited the packaging to its bare minimum. Only what is required for the bottle not to break in transport. No massive box, wrapping plastic, or bubble wrap. We guarantee a great and green unboxing experience!
Also, we offer free shipping and while we know this first hand wash version is not affordable to everyone, we will continue and work with our suppliers and internally to make this mini revolution accessible to the most.
