In line with Coca-Cola’s global World Without Waste initiative – whose goal is to collect and recycle all cans or bottles
by 2030 – the brand has recently announced its plan to roll out a streamlined paperboard “topper” for can multipacks in Europe next year.
The plastic six-pack ring may not necessarily exist much longer. The latest alternative is the KeelClip, a design that attaches a paper lid to the top of the cans, with a hidden flap shaped like the keel on a boat to stabilize the cans.
