Banksy Honors Healthcare Workers With 'Game Changer' Artwork

Banksy unveiled a new artwork on Instagram called Game Changer. The monochromatic piece pays tribute to healthcare workers worldwide, portraying a boy playing with a nurse superhero toy with figures of Batman and Spiderman in a waste basket on the floor. The nurse is also shown wearing a cape, face mask and a white apron embellished with a red cross.

According to BBC, the work is currently on view to staff and patients on Level C of Southampton General Hospital in Britain. Banksy left a note for hospital workers, expressing: “Thanks for all you’re doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white.”

The work will go on auction raise money for National Health Service charities. “The fact that Banksy has chosen us to recognise the outstanding contribution everyone in and with the NHS is making, in unprecedented times, is a huge honour,” says Paula Head, CEO of the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, to BBC.
